Across the world, communities are responding to deep social, economic, and ecological crises with bold local solutions. Transformative Cities is a platform to connect, amplify and learn from these efforts, showcasing how citizens, movements and municipalities are already creating change through cooperation, solidarity and democratic participation.
At the heart of the initiative is the Atlas des utopies, a living collection of inspiring transformations in housing, energy, water and food systems. These stories highlight not only practical solutions but also the power of collective action to shift power dynamics and build more just and sustainable communities.
Prix du Public pour les Villes Transformatrices
The Transformative Cities People’s Choice Award ran for four editions between 2018 and 2022, supporting visibility and exchange between dozens of inspiring local initiatives. While the award is currently inactive, we are seeking opportunities to revive it in 2026. In the meantime, this platform continues as a working archive and space for exchange, supporting mutual learning between communities working towards systemic change.

Nous pensons que l'amplification des changements dans différents endroits peut contribuer à faciliter un changement radical au niveau mondial ; en d'autres termes, une transformation systémique. Des changements sous différentes formes se produisent partout dans le monde, et il est parfois difficile de savoir où chercher. Les villes transformatrices peuvent être considérées comme un télescope, pour aider à naviguer dans la galaxie complexe des luttes et des changements radicaux au niveau local, partout dans le monde.
